Man dies following Panhandle dive

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) – Authorities have released few details in the death of a diver whose body was pulled from the Gulf of Mexico this weekend.

The U.S. Coast Guard said the diver was airlifted to a hospital Saturday afternoon and pronounced dead. He was diving at the Oriskany, a decommissioned aircraft carrier that was sunk in 2006 off the coast of Pensacola Beach in the Florida Panhandle.

The diver’s name hasn’t been released.
