Gore speech draws protesters
BACO RATON. (AP) – Former Vice President Al Gore’s presentation on global warming drew about a thousand attendees in Boca Raton, along with more than a hundred protesters.
Gore spoke Saturday evening at the Mizner Park Amphitheater.
Protesters yelled at Gore as he took the podium at the open-air venue, as well as those walking in to listen to the speech. Many of the protesters were with the groups Collegians for a Constructive Tomorrow and South Florida Tea Party.
Gore has been speaking about climate change for several years. His climate change presentation was featured in the 2006 documentary film “An Inconvenient Truth,” which won an Academy Award. In 2007, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on climate change.
