DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (AP) – The sister of a South Florida teen who was set on fire found two charred dolls floating in the pool in her backyard.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday that the backyard gate of 22-year-old Melissa Durkee’s Deerfield Beach home was found open with the two toy dolls floating in the pool. The dolls were burnt and joined together heads to feet.

The dolls belonged to her daughters, who had left them outside.

No arrests have been made.

Durkee’s brother, 15-year-old Michael Brewer, was attacked last month by five boys who doused him with alcohol and set him on fire. He remains in critical condition in a hospital. The boys involved in the attack are charged with aggravated assault. One is also charged with attempted murder.
