MIAMI (AP) – A former Miami judge has been convicted of fraud and other charges for stealing more than $80,000 from a social services agency he ran.

A jury found ex-judge Phillip Davis guilty Wednesday of nine felonies for defrauding an agency called Miami-Dade Resident College. The 55-year-old Davis was taken immediately into custody and will be sentenced Jan. 8.

As a judge, Davis was charged in 1991 with taking bribes to fix cases as part of a federal judicial corruption probe dubbed Operation Court Broom.
