GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Six men reportedly attacked Gainesville police officers during a street party after one officer used his stun gun on a crowd member.

More than 500 people were at what police called an unorganized “Fest party,” connected to the weeklong, hard rock festival held in downtown Gainesville.

Early Sunday, an officer tried to arrest an unidentified person who refused to move for a police vehicle. Police say 25-year-old Ryan J. Clarey tried to free the person by punching the officer, and the officer shot Clarey with a Taser.

As the officer was arresting Clarey, the original suspect ran away, but several other bystanders reportedly attacked the officer. About 20 other officers responded as backup, and six men were arrested on various charges.
