Man killed by school bus
TEQUESTA, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say a Palm Beach County school bus ran over and killed a man.
Tequesta police say the bus was carrying about 21 children to Limestone Creek Elementary Monday morning when 69-year-old Jerry Licklider walked into the vehicle’s path. Rescue workers transported the man by helicopter to a trauma center, but he eventually died from his injuries.
The students were kept on the bus for some time, and a few were eventually released to their parents. The rest were taken to a nearby community center until another bus could take them to school.
Police are still investigating the death, and fault is not yet clear.
None of the students were injured.
