Teen accused of killing man, showing off corpse
TAMPA (AP) – A teenager is being held without bail after he allegedly killed a Tampa man by striking him with a whiskey bottle. Authorities say he later showed off the body to friends.
Sixteen-year-old Amer Ejak has been charged with first-degree murder and will be tried as an adult.
He and 22-year-old Christopher Cox are accused of killing Thomas Johannesen two weeks ago. Deputies say that after striking Johannesen with a bottle, Cox and Ejak hid his body in a closet and returned to show the corpse to others.
Johannesen was a 34-year-old father and is survived by his wife and son.
Ejak and Cox are being held without bail.
