Man charged after throwing jellyfish
MADEIRA BEACH (AP) – A 41-year-old Madeira Beach man who allegedly threw jellyfish and pretended to drown is facing charges in Pinellas County.
According to a sheriff’s office report, Keith Edward Marriott caused “concern for his safety” when he submerged himself and floated back to the top of the water. He was also “loud and disruptive.”
Marriott was arrested Monday and charged with disorderly intoxication and carrying a concealed weapon. According to the St. Petersburg Times, Marriott was carrying a pocketknife in his shorts.
Jail records indicate that Marriott was being held on $250 bond.
