Officials to test soil after deputies fall ill
COCOA (AP) – State officials are expected to test soil from a patch of land in Brevard County where two deputies were overcome by strong fumes this week.
State environmental investigators plan to take samples from a wooded area in Cocoa, which authorities say might be an illegal dumping site.
Officials said two Brevard County Sheriff’s Office deputies complained of respiratory problems and eye irritation when they were near the area Tuesday morning.
