Florida ranks last in highway stimulus
TALLAHASSEE (AP) – A congressional leader says Florida ranks last in spending federal highway stimulus money.
House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman James Oberstar, D-Minn., wrote Crist on Thursday urging him to “refocus your efforts.”
Oberstar’s letter said Florida had begun construction of projects totaling only 2 percent of its stimulus funding as of June 30.
That’s 51st among the 50 states and District of Columbia.
