2 men arrested for smoking pot with child in car
TEMPLE TERRACE (AP) – Three Tampa area men have been arrested on child abuse charges after police say they found them smoking marijuana while a 3-year-old sat in their car.
Temple Terrace police say officers stopped 21-year-old Immanuel Sherman Monday night. The officer reported smelling burnt marijuana in the car and seeing a child in the backseat.
Police say Sherman began to choke on something and eventually a small bag of marijuana came out of his mouth.
Sherman was charged with child abuse, possessing about 15 grams of marijuana, opposing an officer and tampering with evidence. His two passengers were each charged with one count of child abuse.
