Suspect shoots at officer and K9
ORLANDO (AP) – Authorities in Orlando are searching for a suspect they say shot at an officer and a police dog.
Orlando Police Department spokeswoman Barbara Jones said the officer was exercising the K9 on Wednesday just before 3 a.m. Shots were fired at the officer, and Jones said the officer took cover and returned fire.
There were no injuries to the officer or dog.
Several SWAT officers did a ground search in a wooded area and cleared it of any shooter. Several shell casings were found in the area where the shots were fired.
Police say the officer was on duty and in uniform exercising his dog with his marked patrol car nearby. A description of the suspect has not been released.
