Family of slain Pahokee teen to announce suit

PAHOKEE (AP) – The family of a slain Florida high school football star is expected announce a lawsuit against the Boys and Girls Club, which hosted a dance where the teenager was fatally shot.

According to The Palm Beach Post, the family of Norman “Pooh” Griffith will hold a press conference Monday to detail the claims of the lawsuit.

Griffith, who was a captain of his Pahokee High School football team, was shot in the head as he drove away from the post-game dance in Belle Glade last fall.

Two teenagers, Carl Lee Booth Jr. and Willie Felton, face charges related to the shooting. Felton is the accused triggerman.
