Police: Man slain after text threats
LAUDERDALE LAKES (AP) – Police say four men are charged with killing a Sunrise man in a case of mistaken identity that started with threats made on a social networking site and through text messaging.
Broward County police say 24-year-old Henry Mancilla was fatally shot while he sat in a car in Lauderdale Lakes Saturday.
But police say the four men arrested intended to kill another man who they say had been involved with one of the suspect’s ex-girlfriend.
Police spokesman Mike Jachles said Sunday the suspects were threatening the intended victim through text messaging and over the Internet.
The four men, ages 18 to 29, each face charges that include premeditated murder.
