House panel approves DNA collection bill
TALLAHASSEE (AP) – A proposal that would expand the use of DNA collection in Florida is gaining traction in the Florida House.
The bill that won approval in a House committee Tuesday would require police to take a DNA sample from felony suspects when they are arrested and booked into jail, instead of waiting until they’re convicted.
