Pre-K readiness rate drops in state
TALLAHASSEE (AP) – New school readiness test results are down for children who completed in Florida’s pre-kindergarten program in the last academic year compared to 2006-07.
Fifty-four percent of participants consistently demonstrated they were school-ready last year, program officials said Thursday. That’s down from 58 percent the year before. But it’s still a better rate than for children who do not finish or participate in the voluntary program.
