Kottkamp reimburses state for family flights

TALLAHASSEE (AP) – Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp has reimbursed the state about $7,000 for flights his wife and toddler son took free of charge aboard state planes.

This comes after an investigation by the Sun Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale found the pair flew on some two dozen trips for free despite state rules requiring them to pay. The newspaper says this cost taxpayers $12,974.

A $6,600.59 check signed by Kottkamp arrived at the Department of Management Services on Wednesday.
