BUNNELL (AP) – A Florida man and his daughter have been charged with incest after eyewitness statements that they were having a sexual relationship, authorities said Tuesday.

Alton Everett Smith and his wife Tina Marie Smith already each face 37 counts of possessing child pornography.

After being on the lam for a week, Alton Everett Smith was arrested Monday and is being held at the Volusia County jail on a total of $950,000 bond. Kristilyn Smith was arrested Tuesday on an incest charge and is in jail on $25,000 bond, a jail official said.

The names of their attorneys were not immediately known.

Investigators who searched the house where the three were living said they found several hundred photos, CDs, VHS tapes and 8mm videos taken over a decade with most showing children posed in sexual positions.

Maj. David O’Brien of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said some photographs show children as young as 8 years old engaging in various sex acts, while others show Smith and his wife engaging in sexual acts with minors.

Alton Everett Smith has told investigators he’s not the monster the news is making him out to be and has denied taking inappropriate pictures of children and disputed reports from authorities that there are tapes of him having sex with minors.
