Man sitting on railroad tracks killed by train
TAMPA (AP) – Authorities say a man sitting on railroad tracks in Tampa was struck and killed by an oncoming train.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Sunday that 46-year-old Antonio Francisco was hit by an eastbound CSX train just after 8 p.m. Saturday. He died at the scene.
The victim’s uncle told authorities they had purchased alcohol earlier in the evening and had been sitting on the tracks drinking.
The uncle was not injured, and there was no damage to the train.
