2 hurt in wrong-way crash on I-275
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ The Florida Highway Patrol says two people were seriously injured when their vehicle crashed into a car traveling the wrong way on Interstate 275.
Andrew Ryan and Melinda Quick were taken to a Tampa hospital early Sunday morning.
According to an FHP report, 32-year-old Ryan Suarez was traveling south in the roadway’s northbound lanes. Ryan swerved to avoid Suarez, but the cars collided and spun.
Investigators believe Suarez, who received minor injuries, had been driving the wrong way for about one or two miles before the crash.
