By Staff | Oct 1, 2024

The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted Tuesday to commit nearly $5.6 million in Partnering for Results funds to 38 local nonprofit agencies in support of 51 human services programs.

The Board allocates money annually from the County General Funds through the budget process for these programs as part of its ongoing commitment to support agencies serving the community.

The funding allocated does not exceed 40% of the total program expenses based on current financial and service data provided by the agencies.

Priorities of funding include:

• Supportive Living – Programs which support individuals to maintain or improve their ability to be independent and self-sufficient, support community redevelopment/social investments

• Out-of-School Youth Activities – Programs benefiting youth including programs which address economic opportunities and underlying issues of poverty

• Emergency Assistance – Programs providing food and shelter, in coordination with other supportive services which facilitate self-sufficiency
