The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency is inviting the public to an open house on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Riverside Community Center at 3061 E. Riverside Drive.

The CRA is working in partnership with the city of Fort Myers Community Development Department to reestablishing the East Fort Myers redevelopment area. This event will include open discussions for the public to share opinions and ask questions about the revitalization of a 1,039 acre neighborhood in East Fort Myers bounded by Billy’s Creek to the south and west, the Caloosahatchee to the north and Prospect Avenue to the east.

“As always, we want to hear from the community about their wishes and desires so that this revitalization will be something they and the city of Fort Myers are proud of,” said Fort Myers CRA executive director Michele Hylton-Terry. “The desired outcomes of the CRA and the city of Fort Myers continues to be creating a well-designed, vibrant and prosperous community free of slum and blight.”

The event is being presented by La Rue Planning and Management Services of Fort Myers, which has provided planning and zoning services to 58 municipalities and 22 counties throughout Florida for the past 20 years.
