Dealing with Southwest Florida’s rapid growth topic of REIS program
How are real estate firms, builders and government agencies dealing with Southwest Florida’s rapid growth? The dynamics of population growth and real estate development will be explained at the 2022 Real Estate Symposium on Thursday, Oct. 6. The annual half-day program is presented by the Real Estate Investment Society in partnership with the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Southwest Florida is growing fast and Dr. Amir Neto, director of the Regional Economic Research Institute , will explain how, why and where. Real estate appraiser and industry analyst Matt Simmons of Maxwell Hendry Simmons will moderate a panel discussion on “Finding and Clearing the Path of Growth” with panelists Alexis Crespo, AICP, of RVi Planning; Nelson Taylor, of LSI Companies; Neale Montgomery, of Pavese Law Firm; and Mikki Rozdolski of Lee County Planning Department.
“How Infrastructure will Keep Up” will be discussed by a second panel, moderated by real estate attorney Sean Ellis of Roetzel & Andress. Panelists include Phil Flood of South Florida Water Management; Rob Price, of Lee County Department of Transportation; and Nicole Monahan of the City of Fort Myers.
Another panel of experts, moderated by real estate expert Phil Fischler of Fischler Property Company, will offer insight on “The Future of Rental Housing.” The panel includes Danville Ledbetter of Soltura Development Group; Joe Bonor of Catalyst; Michael Allan of ReVital Development Group; and Michele Hylton-Terry of the Community Redevelopment Agency.
The symposium will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at noon Oct. 6 in the Cohen Center ballroom at FGCU. Admission is $35 for REIS members and $50 for all other interested persons. There is no charge for FGCU students. Registration is required at www.reis-swfl.org.

Real Estate Road Map to
2023 event to benefit Bedz for Kidz
Real Estate Road Map to 2023, hosted by Midland Trust, will provide projections into the real estate market. Featured presenters at the event to begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 15671 San Carlos Blvd., include a national motivational speaker and five expert speakers in different sectors of the real estate industry.
Ron Frost, a motivational speaker, business coach, and author, will kick off the evening. Following Frost will be expert speakers Amir Neto, Dan Cronin, Jeff Tumbarello, Mike Lyons, and Christopher L. Pope.
Topics covered by the speakers include mortgages and interest rates, rules and regulations for purchasing and managing property, the seasonality of the Southwest Florida market, and a national and regional economic update.
Included in the event is an opportunity for speed networking during cocktail hour for the first 30 people who check in, a 50/50 raffle, appetizers, and drinks.
All proceeds will be donated to Guardian ad Litem Foundation’s Bedz for Kidz program. The program provides beds, cribs, dressers, and blankets to children in need and has helped over 3,000 Southwest Florida youth.
