Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife will present local clean water advocate Jim Collier as the featured speaker for their Sept. 13 meeting.

His topic at the meeting to begin at 7 p.m. at the Rotary Park Environmental Center will be “Cape Coral Water and Waterways 101.”

This presentation, geared to newer residents in our area, will include slides summarizing years of history and engineering. It will describe how our water

quality is doing today, and take a brief look at present trends. Further, Collier will provide resources for those who want to discover more information on their own. There will be a brief Q&A.

Collier is a devoted angler and boater, environmentalist and conservationist as well as a successful Purple Martin landlord. He is a member of several local clubs and organizations. He also serves as chair of the Cape Coral Waterway Advisory Board, though he will not be speaking for the city or the board at this meeting.
