Friends of Cape Coral Library General Meeting Sept. 17

All are invited to the Friends of the Cape Coral Library General Meeting Saturday, Sept. 17.

The morning will begin at 9:30 with coffee, tea, light snacks and social time. The brief business portion of the meeting will start at 10 as.m., followed directly by the presentation by guest speaker Doug MacGregor.

MacGregor is coordinator for the Arts in Healthcare program at Lee Health, which works with volunteer artists, musicians, crafts people and entertainers to bring the expressive arts to patients, staff and families in Lee Health hospitals. MacGregor will talk about the effectiveness of using the expressive arts in hospital spaces and enhancing the patient experience. The Arts in Healthcare program also works with local disabled artists showcasing and selling their work in Lee Health Hospitals and Rehabilitation Centers.

MacGregor has worked for Lee Health for over 10 years. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and a native of Binghamton, N.Y. He has also worked as an editorial cartoonist for over 40 years in eastern Connecticut and Southwest Florida.

He is also in a local classic rock band, The Rosada Project, which plays around Southwest Florida.
