Kacoyanis awarded degree from University of Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Maria Kacoyanis of Cape Coral has received a bachelor of science degree in Commerce & Business Administration from the University of Alabama. UA awarded over 1,400 degrees during its summer commencement ceremonies on Aug. 6.

UA offers students a premier educational, cultural and social experience with more than 200 undergraduate, graduate and professional programs.

The University of Alabama, part of The University of Alabama System, is the state’s flagship university.

Foundation for Lee County Public Schools announces board members, slate

of officers for new year

The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools has announced the installation of new Board Member Mike Perino, managing consultant, OneDigital. Perino was introduced to FLCPS through his participation as a sponsor for the Rotary South Golf Tournament which raises funds for the Take Stock in Children program. His broader support as a board member and business leader strengthens the foundation’s partnership with the business community to the ultimate benefit of students.

Also approved were the slate of officers were Dr. Michele Laboda, chair; Michael Wukitsh, vice chair; Kyle DeCicco, treasurer; R. Noelle Branning, Esq., secretary; and Harlan Parrish, immediate past chair.

Re-elected board members include: Amira Fox, Esq.; Kristin Gwinner; Cindy McCurry-Ross; John Miller, Esq.; Cole Peacock; Brian Rist; Kevin Shimp; Denise Vidal; Mark Weber; Constance White-Davis; Michele Yovanovich, Ed.D.; and Matthew Zwack.

Laboda also re-appointed Jeff Kunburger as chair of the College Career Leadership Council and Dr. Richard Lewis, chair of the STEM Committee.

Hodges University’s

Talon magazine available

The fifth edition of Talon magazine, the magazine of Hodges University, is now available on campus and online.

Within its expanded 36 pages, readers can enjoy stories and profiles of students, alumni, faculty and staff, plus celebrations like graduation, pinning ceremonies, and global culture.
