Family Initiative hires Fecteau as community engagement specialist

Rachel Fecteau has joined Family Initiative Inc. as the community engagement specialist working alongside co-founders David Brown and Anjali Van Drie to promote compassionate care and support to children and families living with autism spectrum disorder through community awareness and outreach.

In this role, Fecteau will oversee community education and outreach in order to raise awareness of Family Initiative’s programs, manage the nonprofit organization’s volunteer efforts and work with regional and program leadership to advance community engagement.

Fecteau previously worked as a telecommunications specialist at the Conway Police Department in New Hampshire for over 16 years. In that capacity, she directed local community outreach programs, managed data entry for the New Hampshire State Police and the National Crime Information Center and prioritized emergency call response for police, fire and rescue agencies.

Fecteau earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from New England College in New Hampshire.

Established in 2015, Family Initiative Inc. is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to supporting children with autism and strengthening their families. Its team of clinicians serves children from a compassionate, personalized approach through Applied Behavior Analysis and Occupational Therapy services, and offers autism play groups, teen meetings, parent education, community conversations and more.
