American Legion Post 90 in Cape Coral installs new officers
New officers were installed at the American Legion Post 90 in Cape Coral for 2022-2023 on Sunday, July 3, in a ceremony attended by dignitaries from the Department of Florida and the Southwest Area and District 13 to which Post 90 is assigned. The ceremony started with the installation of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 90 officers, followed by American Legion Riders Chapter 90 officers, Sons of American Legion Squadron 90 officers, and finally, officers of the American Legion Post 90 membership.
The officers for the membership are Commander and Treasurer Keith Berres, First Vice Commander Wayne Cave, Second Vice Commander and Adjutant John Baker, Judge Advocate Brian Ensley, Sergeant-at-Arms Carl Saitta and seven Executive Board Committeemen, Ted Clark, Jeff Zambrana, Brian Ensley, Harry Finke, Bill McKernan, Rebecca Sewell, and Dennis Stebbins.
The officers for the SAL are Sean Wing, Commander and Assistant Adjutant; Brian’ Taz’ Gehling, First Vice Commander and Judge Advocate; Bill Lau Second Vice Commander; Ralph Camp, Adjutant; Bob Buchholz, Finance officer’ Chuck Shuman, Chaplain; Nick Napolitano III, Historian; and Tony Truzzolino, Sergeant at Arms.
The officers for ALA are Nita Keeling, President; Sherry Baker, First Vice; Freda West, Second Vice; Janice Nordquist, Secretary; Carol Berres, Treasurer; Patti Kelton, Chaplain; Nancy Mizen, Sergeant of Arms; and Paula Martinez, Historian.
The officers for ALR are John Fitzgerald, Director; John Leuthard, Assistant Director and Chaplain; Laurene Flower, Secretary; Ken Worley, Treasurer; and Charles Pothier, Road Captain.
American Legion Post 90 was founded in April 2001. The Post offers a full canteen and food service at Southeast 47th Street in Cape Coral and sponsors scholarships, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, blood drives, V.A. volunteers, and national emergency funds programs to assist veterans in need.
