Sun Splash to celebrate dads & champions

Families can celebrate dads this weekend at Cape Coral’s local water park for a day of getting out of the heat.
On Saturday and Sunday, Sun Splash Family Waterpark will celebrate Father’s Day Weekend with free admission for dads with a paid ticket. As an added bonus, there will be a special Dad’s Day Ohana Games featuring great prizes that fathers will be sure to cherish. Tickets must be purchased at the ticket booth.
Also on Saturday, Sun Splash is partnering with the Special Olympics for “Champion’s Day.”
The park will host an exclusive morning designed for families and individuals with special needs. Champions and their families will have exclusive access to the park from 9 to 10 a.m. Season pass holders can gain access at 10 a.m. The park will open to the general public from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Champions’ tickets are free and family companion tickets are $10 each for up to 4 people. Officials said Champions and their families can stay all day at no additional cost or leave at any time they choose.
To be sensitive to some Champions’ needs, the park turns down the music and adds more staff to assist families for this exclusive time period. Champion’s Day tickets and companion tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth.
“We’re very excited to provide several family entertainment events this summer,” said Eric Reed, Sun Splash Family Waterpark general manager, in a release. “From Champions Day to Father’s Day Weekend, we’re pleased to offer special fun for families to spend quality time together.”
On June 23, the park will participate in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson. This event takes place throughout the world on this day with the message “Swimming Lessons Save Lives.” Lifeguards will teach basic water safety skills to keep everyone safe. The lesson will start at 9:30 a.m. and is included with park admission and for season pass holders. Pre-registration is required at https://bit.ly/WLSLRegistration.
Sun Splash is open daily for summer with new extended hours of operation through Aug. 8. Sun Splash has introduced other new enhancements including free parking, more cabanas, new food and drink items, an activities director, special events, and new season pass member benefits including early entry, discounts on food and cabanas, plus one bring-a-friend-free ticket valid for a one-time visit this season.
