Annual Young Artists Exhibit at Cape Library through June 29
The Cape Coral Library is located at 921 SW 39th Terrace, and the Annual Young Artists Exhibit can be viewed during regular library business hours now through June 29.
The winning entries from the 16th annual Coloring the Earth children’s environmental art contest, which was sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library and the Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library, are framed and hung on the walls in the alcove area of the art gallery. The theme for this year was “Let’s Save the Gopher Tortoise.”
Winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the library on May 14. Names of contest winners and their artwork can also be viewed on www.capefriends.org under “Art Gallery,” and photos from the Awards Ceremony appear under “Events/Photos” on the same site.
Also on display on the hallway walls and in all three lighted cases of the library gallery are various art projects created by students in the Oasis Middle School Visual Arts Classes. Congratulations to Art Teacher April Gibson, who was recently honored as Teacher of the Year at Oasis Middle School!
Changing art exhibits are sponsored by the Friends of Cape Coral Library. For more information, contact Art Gallery Chairperson Monica Rahman by email to gallery@capefriends.org.
