Looking for good eats and entertainment over the holiday weekend?

Southwest Florida’s Nautical Mile Magazine is hosting the 2022 Seafood Festival and Caribbean Market over Memorial Day Weekend at the German American Social Club.

The 25-acre site will spotlight an estimated 400 feet of food trucks featuring dozens of seafood choices, as well as non-seafood choices. The event will also be lined with more than 70 coastal exhibitors who come from all over Florida allowing local residents to browse exotic art, clothing, woodwork, nautical jewelry, outdoor furniture and sportswear.

Nautical Mile’s publisher and event promoter, Jim Griffiths, said, “If there’s one thing the coastal enthusiasts of Southwest Florida love, it’s seafood. With the city’s recent population boom, this event is expected to be one of the most attended in the city.”

Over the three-day event show-goers will have the opportunity to meet world famous nautical artists including Steve Whitlock and Douglas Snidely, and Greg Cassell. Always an impressive sight to see, the expo will feature a K9 dock-jumping competition, where handlers from all over will compete. The dock and pool measure 40 feet and bleachers will be on-site for spectators.

Live music featuring four different bands will play throughout the weekend, and the German American Social Club is planning to open its international beer booth for the occasion.

Event dates are May 28, 29 and 30. Show hours are Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Monday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission is $10, re-entry is half-price all weekend, and military ID, retired or active, come as a guest of the show. Those under 18 also attend for free.

Expo proceeds will benefit the Brotherhood of Heroes Resource Center in Cape Coral on Del Prado Boulevard.

“We’re going to be making a donation to them,” Griffiths said. “It’s exciting to be able to support this organization in Cape Coral that has created a large veteran resource center.”

The German American Social Club is at 2101 Pine Island Road. For more information on the festival, visit www.NauticalMileMagazine.com.
