Next month’s roster of activities at Cape Coral Lee County Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:
Adult Programs
Book Discussion: “The Good Sister” by Sally Hepworth
11 a.m., Wednesday, June 1
Rose and Fern are twin sisters. Fern works at a library and uses routine to keep her life in order. Rose is an interior designer who has been trying unsuccessfully to get pregnant. When Fern comes up with an idea to try to help Rose, it leads down a path that will disrupt both their lives and unearth old secrets.

Crafts at Cape: Painted
Wineglasses and Charms
11 a.m., Thursday, June 9
Create hand-painted wineglasses and make your own charms to go with them at this fun craft for adults. Registration is required.
The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum Presentation
11 a.m., Thursday, June 16
Senior marine biologist Rebecca Mensch will be providing an informational session about The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum. Join us to learn more about the museum.
Crafts at Cape: Seaside Picture Frames
11 a.m., Saturday, June 18
Learn how to create your own seashell picture frame. Registration is required.
Children’s Programs
All-Abilities Kids Storytime
10 a.m., Saturday, June 4
For ages 3-12 and caregivers. This storytime emphasizes books, music and sensory experiences designed for children with adaptive needs and their families. Using visual schedule boards, stories are told through multiple modalities. This creates a positive storytime experience in a quieter environment with reduced sensory stimuli. Class size is limited to 10 children, plus their parents or caregivers. First-come, first-served.
Saturday Summer Storytime
10 a.m., Saturday, June 11
For children through age 5 and a caregiver. Join us for stories, rhymes, music and movement. Space is limited. First come, first served. Please come to the Youth Services desk to pick up a ticket.
The Five Senses with DoDad’s Lab
2 p.m., Monday, June 13
Professor DoDad and his new partner Rosco are excited to welcome you to his brand-new laboratory where he will take you on a highly interactive science program using exciting experiments, original music, puppetry, and science fun based on the five senses. For ages 6 – 11. Registration is required.
Beach Bum Fun
10 a.m., Wednesday, June 15
For children through age 5 and a caregiver. Join us for stories, music and rhymes about the beach. Space is limited. First come, first served.
Kids Read Down Fines
1-2 p.m., Saturday, June 18
Children and teens can earn a $2 credit on overdue fines for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Please bring your library card. Visit the Youth Services desk to register.
Magic with Joey Evans
2 p.m., Monday, June 20
This Master Magician is back to tickle our funny bones with magic, mystery and fun. Prepare to be amazed and inspired by his illusions, puppets and tricks. It’s a show you don’t want to miss. For ages 6 – 11. Registration is required.
Shark-tastic Stories

Joshua J. Superstar Show

Harry Potter Extravaganza
2 p.m., Tuesday, June 14
For ages 12-17. Calling all Potterheads. Play tabletop Quidditch, make snitch ornaments, create your own monster book of monsters and design your own dragon egg in this celebration of all things Wizarding World. Space is limited. Please pick up a ticket at the youth services desk.

Amazing Animals with Adam

For ages 12-17. Learn more about animals living in Southwest Florida with wildlife biologist Adam Pottruck. This hands-on, interactive program gives an up-close perspective on wildlife management, rescue and conservation. Space is limited. Please pick up a ticket at the youth services desk.
Out of My Hands Juggling Workshop
2 p.m., Tuesday, June 28
For ages 12-17. Learn how to juggle scarves and bean bags during this workshop for beginners. Space is limited. Please pick up a ticket at the youth services desk.
