By CJ HADDAD - | May 5, 2022

A one-of-a-kind exhibit is now open at the Cape Coral Museum of History where works from some of the city’s many talented artists are on display and for sale.

For the second consecutive year, the museum plays host to the pop art exhibit, “Through Our Eyes,” which features artwork from participants of the Freida B. Smith Special Populations Center. The exhibit opened May 4 and runs until July 2. There will be an opening reception at the museum on May 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

“The museum is honored to be able to team up with Special Populations again, providing them with an outlet to showcase their amazing artwork while also giving them an opportunity to sell the artwork to the public,” said museum Executive Director Janel Trull.

The show consists of 75 pieces of artwork featuring everything from sculptures to seashell trinket trays to a 4-foot by 4-foot paint pour painting. Each work is available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the Guardians for Special Populations.

RSVPs are requested for the reception and can be done through the museum’s website at www.capecoralmuseum.org or you can contact the museum via phone at 239-772-7037.

The Cape Coral Museum of History is open to the public via guided tour Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours are $5 per adult. Children 17 and under, and students with ID are free. Exhibit is included with admission. Price for each piece of artwork is listed on each label and includes tax. Any purchased pieces will need to remain on display through July 2 and can be picked up starting July 5.

The Cape Coral Museum of History is at 544 Cultural Park Blvd.
