Next month’s roster of activities at Cape Coral Lee County Public Library offers topics for all ages.

The following activities are free to the public:

Adult Programs

English Café

10 a.m., Friday, April 1, 8, 22, 29

6 p.m., Tuesdays, April 5, 12, 19, 26

Free informal, conversation sessions for adult ESOL/ESL students.

Book Discussion: “Of Women and Salt” by Gabriela Garcia

11 a.m., Wednesday, April 6

“Of Women and Salt” is a sweeping, masterful debut about a daughter’s fateful choice, a mother motivated by her own past and a family legacy that begins in Cuba before either of them were born.

Black Tie Talent: “The Crooners”

2 p.m., Wednesday, April 6

A musical tribute to the romantic songs made popular by male crooners such as Engelbert Humperdinck, Tony Bennett, Elvis Presley, Bobby Darin, Julio Iglesias, Perry Como, Dean Martin, Mel Torme, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Mathis and Al Martino. Registration is required.

Karen White Author Presentation

& Book Signing

2 p.m., Monday, April 11

Meet author Karen White as she discusses her latest book, “The Shop on Royal Street,” the first in a spin-off series of the bestselling Tradd Street novels. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Registration is required.

Receive personalized help downloading e-books, movies, music and more from Overdrive and Hoopla, two of Lee County Library System’s largest online content providers. Bring your fully charged digital device for this hands-on help session. Note: Please bring any passwords you may need for downloading apps. Kindle users will also need an Amazon account and their password for accessing it.

Crafts at Cape: Painting with Wool

1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 14

Learn a new craft with painting with wool. This is a wool felting technique that uses wool fibers and a felting needle to layer and “paint” embellishments for pieces that are bursting with color. The theme will be spring. Supplies will be provided. Registration is required.

Children’s Programs

Family Storytime

10 a.m., Saturday, April 2

For children through age 5 and caregivers. Families with young children enjoy a variety of stories, songs, rhymes and movement. Space is limited. First come, first served.

Toddler Tales

10 & 11 a.m., Mondays,

April 4, 11, 18, 25

For ages 18-36 months and caregivers. Toddlers and caregivers move and groove during this interactive storytime. Space is limited. First come, first served.

Preschool Storytime

11 a.m., Tuesdays, April 5, 12, 19, 26

For ages 3-5. Children attend this program independently while parents and caregivers wait nearby. Space is limited. First come, first served.

Baby Rhyme Time

10 a.m., Thursdays, April 7, 14, 21, 28

For babies up to 18 months. Babies and caregivers wiggle and giggle in a supportive environment. Space is limited. First come, first served.

Slime Time

3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 7

Join us for sliming good fun by mixing up your own spring slime concoction. For ages 6-11. Registration is required. Space is limited.

All-Abilities Kids Storytime

10 a.m., Saturday, April 9

For ages 3-12 and caregivers. This storytime emphasizes books, music and sensory experiences designed for children with adaptive needs and their families. Using visual schedule boards, stories are told through multiple modalities. This creates a positive storytime experience in a quieter environment with reduced sensory stimuli. Class size is limited to 10 children, plus their parents or caregivers. Space is limited. First come, first served.

Kids Read Down Fines

1-2 p.m., Saturday, April 16

Children and teens can earn a $2 credit on overdue fines for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Please bring your library card.

Anime Club

4:30 p.m., Monday, April 18

For teens and tweens interested in anime, manga and Japanese culture. Watch anime with friends and make themed crafts. For ages 11-18. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library.
