4th Annual ‘Taste of Freedom: Through the Looking Glass’ fundraising gala this weekend
The 4th “Taste of Freedom: Through the Looking Glass,” annual fundraising gala to help end human trafficking is coming soon, Saturday, Nov. 2. Hosted by the Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking, the event will take place at the Fort Myers Event Center, 1900 Park Meadows Drive, Fort Myers, from 6-10 p.m.
Taste of Freedom is designed to raise awareness about human trafficking in Southwest Florida, as well as empower and support victims.
Tickets for the event are $125 each and are available for purchase online at slavefree-florida.org/taste-of-freedom-gala/. Eight top tables can also be purchased for $900. Funds raised at the event will aid in servicing victims of human trafficking in Southwest Florida and help partners provide housing for minor victims.
Now in its fourth year, the charity gala hopes to raise funds to create a long-term residential program, solving part of the trafficking problem how to best help victims after they’ve been rescued.
The gala is open to the public and will include chef stations, wine, silent and live auctions and a raffle.
Participating restaurants include Bahama Breeze, Bonefish Grill, Cantina Laredo, DaRuMa, Divieto Ristorante, The French Brasserie Rustique, Trattoria Mia and 3 Pepper Burrito Company.
