Cape Elks to celebrate 40th with 5K and an open house

By Staff | May 30, 2019

Cape Coral Elks Lodge #2596 will celebrate its 40th anniversary of providing service to the community by hosting both a 5K fundraiser and an open house.

“I am very proud of the work that the Cape Coral Elks Lodge has provided in the community for over 40 years. Without the Elks involvement in the Local Community many of our Veterans and Children would not have benefited from the services we provide free of charge,” said Richard Kampf, Lodge Exalted Ruler, in a statement.

As part of the celebration, the Cape Coral Lodge will host a 5K run and Walk at Rotary Park, 5505 Rose Garden Road, on June 8.

The run will step off at 7:30 a.m. with money raised to help the lodge raise funds for its local charity efforts.

Participants interested in participating in the Run/walk can register on line at 3dracinginc.com or at the race location from 5:30 am until 7:15 am.

Starting at noon on run day, the lodge at 850 Lafayette Street also will hold an Open House and the public is welcome to attend.

There will be DJ Entertainment, an old-fashioned barbecue, 50/50 drawings and prize raffles. Children under 6 can eat free.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Elks Children’s Therapy Services, a no cost medical service provided to children and families in need of medical care in our local community. This year the Lodge will join forces with the local U.S. Veterans Administration Hospital to provide housing assistance to homeless veterans and needy families in Cape Coral.
