Zonta Club of Cape Coral brings first LUNAFEST film festival to Cape Coral
First there was Sarasota, then Naples, then Fort Myers followed by Sanibel. Now Cape Coral is having its first film festival, LUNAFEST. Sponsored by the Zonta Club of Cape Coral, it will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, from 2-5 p.m. Tickets are available for $20 each in advance and $25 at the door. Registration information is on Zonta Club of Cape Coral Facebook page or number below.
The Zonta Club has been in existence for over 100 years, but in existence in Cape Coral for only two years. The local club presents monthly speakers at its meetings which are free and open to the public and held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at Gulf Coast Village conference room. The Zonta Club supports various women’s organizations like Abuse and Counseling Treatment and Lifeline, which provides much needed baby supplies for women in the community who are unable to afford them.
LUNAFEST originated 10 years ago. Created and sponsored by nationally known LUNA health bars, this is a traveling film festival celebrating, showcasing and championing women filmmakers. LUNAFEST in Cape Coral will showcase eight films, each between 3 and 17 minutes.
LUNAFEST partners with Chicken & Egg Pictures, a leading nonprofit advocating gender equality within the film industry.
