March in the Park

2 min read

Preparations are under way for the ninth annual “March in the Park,” a plant and garden art sale, to be held from 9 a.m. t o 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral. The Garden Club of Cape Coral is once again looking for plant vendors and crafters of garden related items.

March in the Park is the major fundraising event for the Garden Club of Cape Coral. Proceeds raised help the Garden Club achieve its goals of awarding local high school students merit awards in horticulture, civic beautification, Habitat for Humanity, Wekiva Youth Camp sponsorships, and to promote civic awareness of environmental and conservation concerns.

Last year the Garden Club had more than 30 vendors in attendance selling all kinds of plants, from ground cover to palm trees, and garden art, from stepping stones to fish faces. Master gardeners will be available to answer questions. Every hour there will be informative speakers. Children’s creative projects will be found at the kids booth, along with a face painter. Opportunity drawings, food and music will be available throughout the day. This year plans are under way for an even bigger event.

The Garden Club of Cape Coral meets the second Wednesday of each month, at 7 p.m, at The Cape Coral Art League, 516 Cultural Park Blvd., Cape Coral. All meetings are open to the public, come learn about Florida gardening and promote fellowship among gardeners.
