Council of Catholic women to host Tea Party in St. Andrew Parish Hall
The Catholic Council of Catholic Women is having a tea party Thursday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m., at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
All members, non-members, friends and family are welcome. Tea, finger sandwiches and mini desserts will be served with unique cups and saucers.

Chabad Jewish Center to offer special program, ‘The Dilemma’
Engage in a brain-twisting, mind-wrestling, hair-splitting experience as you explore modern situations and the complex dilemmas they give rise to while you seek solutions by examining original Talmudic texts.
Beginning Monday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m., Rabbi Yossi Labkowski of Chabad of Cape Coral will offer a new six-session course from the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute called “The Dilemma: Modern Conundrums. Talmudic Debates. Your Solutions.”
The program will explore modern situations and the complex dilemmas they give rise to while you seek solutions by examining original Talmudic texts.
“The Dilemma is a mental expedition in which participants mind-wrestle with situations that force them to choose between two reasonable truths,” said Labkowski. “Participants analyze, discuss, and debate original Talmudic texts to solve dilemmas and get an authentic taste of dynamic Talmud study.
“I find people love having the opportunity to engage in social discourse, particularly when it involves fascinating intellectual challenges and hot topics …,” he said. “This is by far the most captivating course we’ve ever offered and I encourage everyone to attend.”

Church of the Epiphany to host Card Party/Luncheon
The Church of the Epiphany will have a Card Party/Luncheon, Friday, Feb. 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the church, 2507 Del Prado Blvd., S., Cape Coral.
Donation is $10. Crafts and bakery goods will be for sale.

Winter Concert Series set at Zion Lutheran Church
The 2017 Winter Concert Series at Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Myers will feature five special performances.
Opening the series at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27, will be the Sanibel BIG?Arts Concert Band.
Then on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m., the church will host a performance by the Gustavus Choir, a group made up of students from Gustavus Adolphus College that tours annually as part of its regular course of study and performance.
The Danny Funderburk Quartet, an American Christian music group created by Danny Funderburk of the Cathedrals, is set to perform Friday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. There will be a hymn sing prior from 6:30-7 p.m.
Two concerts wind up the series in March.
The Gulf Coast Harmonizers (a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society formerly known as the Cape Coral Chorale) will be performing at 7 p.m., Friday, March 3. That will be followed on Friday, March 24, when the Rob Mills Family performs at 7 p.m.
Since 2011, the Rob Mills Family has travelled across the country singing at churches, concert halls, fairs and camp meetings.
A hymn sing will be held from 6:30-7 p.m.
Doors open at 6 p.m. prior to the 7 p.m. performances. A love offering will be received.

Glory Crampton to perform Feb. 21 at St. Columbkille Church
Glory Crampton will perform a concert of Broadway music and classical crossover selections at The Saint Columbkille Church Iona Hall Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m.
She will be joined by guest artists concert violinist David Dusylovitch and Broadway tenor Mark Sanders.
A veteran of numerous productions, Crampton created the role of “Christine” in the highly acclaimed “Phantom” (A musical based on the Phantom of the Opera legend) written by Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit, who created the Broadway musicals “Titanic” and the recent “Nine.” Crampton is featured on the original cast recording of the show, which is one of the highest selling musical recordings in the U.S.

Mrs. Edison’s Hymn Sing Feb. 7
at First Presbyterian Church
Celebrate the Edison Festival of Light and help feed the hungry by attending Mrs. Edison’s Hymn Sing Tuesday, Feb. 7, at The First Presbyterian Church in downtown Fort Myers at the corner of Second Street and Lee Street.
The hymn sing, which is organized and sponsored by the Galloway Family of Dealerships, is now in its 28th year. Because of the overwhelming popularity of the event, three performances are planned at 1, 4 and 7 p.m. The doors will open 30 minutes prior to each performance.
Admission is free, but because of the increased need for food for the hungry, organizers are requesting that those who attend bring cans of non-perishable food and a voluntary cash donation, if possible, to benefit The Soup Kitchen of Community Cooperative.
Community Cooperative provided food and other services to 10,250 people last year.
Community Cooperative was started by First Presbyterian Church along with other downtown churches in 1984 to help alleviate hunger and suffering in Lee County. The church has continued to support its ministry there by providing volunteers in The Soup Kitchen and delivering hot meals to home-bound seniors.
This year’s event will feature the First Presbyterian Sanctuary Choir and many other singers.
Mrs. Edison’s Hymn Sing is the first of three hymn sings sponsored annually by the Galloway Family of Dealerships. The other two are First Celebrates Freedom July 6 and the very popular Christmas Carol Sing December 6. All three events benefit The Soup Kitchen of Community Cooperative.

The Dartts To perform at First Baptist Church of Matlacha Feb. 12
The Dartts gospel music group will be performing Saturday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Matlacha.
The noted gospel group is comprised of Tracy and Sharon Dartt, and their two sons, BJ and Stoney.
Tracy Dartt has written hundreds of gospel songs, “many of which have been recorded by the finest groups and soloists in gospel music,” according to the group website at www.darttmusic.com
