Adult Programs
Craft Corner: Knitting and Crocheting

A casual self-guided group of knitters and crocheters share ideas, techniques and patterns. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library.
Book Talk: “A Man Called Ove”
by Fredrik Backman
2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11
Fredrik Backman’s novel about the angry old man next door is a thoughtful and charming exploration of the profound impact one life has on countless others.
Tai Chi/Qi Gong
11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 12
A low impact stress reducing exercise for all fitness levels. Tai chi/qi gong is meditation in motion, a technique that integrates body, mind and spirit. Sponsored by Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library. Registration is required.
Unlocking Family Trees – DNA
and Genetic Genealogy
1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14
Why do we test DNA? How do we choose the right direct-to-customer DNA test? See examples of analytical results opening the doors of ancestral heritage, bringing us into contact with living cousins around the world. Registration is required.
Coloring for Grown-ups
11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 20
The repetitive motion involved in coloring has a calming effect and adults have found this childhood activity a refreshing way to release their creativity, relieve stress and meet other participants. Materials provided. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library.
Hatha Yoga
9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 25
Hatha yoga concentrates on physical health and mental well-being through postures, breathing techniques and meditation. Participants should bring a towel or yoga mat. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library. Registration is required.

Experience the music of the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s with Dave Kilbride.

Kids Read Down Fines

Children and teens can earn a credit for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Credit may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only. Please register at the Youth Services desk and bring your library card.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: “Double Down” Games
2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6
Come to the library and play games, earn Mom Bucks, win prizes and practice drawing characters. All materials supplied. Program content will be based on the book “Double Down” so attendees must have read the book in order to participate. For kids/tweens age 10-12. Register online or pick up tickets at the library. Space limited to 25. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library.
An Afternoon at the Movies
1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21
A terrier named regularly invites his friends to hang out at his place while his owner is gone, but his quiet life is upended when his owner takes in a stray mutt whom the dog instantly dislikes. Their feud eventually causes both of them to get lost in New York City and they must work together to find their way home. Rated PG. Subject to change without notice. Seating is limited, first come, first served.

Create your own action-packed adventure by drawing comic panels to tell an original story. All supplies will be provided. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Regional Library. Registration is required.
