Blues guitarist Charles coming to Bert’s Bar & Grill in Matlacha

Michael Charles has worked with blues legends Buddy Guy, Phil Guy, James Cotton, Eddy Clearwater, Junior Wells and George Baze. He’s also worked the Chicago blues circuit and toured with blues legend Jimmy Dawkins. Soon, Charles will appear at Bert’s Bar and Seafood Grill on June 14.
Charles began his five decade musical journey in his birth place of Melbourne, Australia. When he received an invitation to perform at the world famous Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago, jumped at the chance and traveled the 12,500 miles to take the stage with Guy.
Rolling Stone Magazine ranks Guy #23 on its list of the top 100 greatest guitarists of all time.
After numerous trips back and forth between countries, Charles decided to leave Australia for America. He worked the Chicago blues circuit and now, as part of his 2016 “Coming Back Home Tour,” Charles will travel the U.S., Canada and Australia.
On June 14 the eight times Grammy elected, and recent Blues Hall of Fame inductee, comes to Bert’s. The show starts at 7:30.
