Next month’s roster of activities at Northwest Regional Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:

Adult Programs

Exhibit: Florida Before

Statehood Exhibit

Explore Florida’s rich history, cultural diversity and development in this traveling exhibit from The History Museum of Florida.

‘Alice in Wonderland’ Tea Party

4 p.m., Tuesday, March 1

Celebrate the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland “at our first ever Tea Party! Bring your favorite teacup, dress as your favorite “Carroll” character, or come as you are. Refreshments, entertainment and “etiquette” instruction will be provided. For adults and teens and tweens grades 6 and up.

Seminar: The Value of Searching Public Records and Online Services

Coloring for Adults

The repetitive motion involved in coloring has a calming effect and adults have found this childhood activity a refreshing way to release their creativity, relieve stress and meet other participants. Materials provided.

Book Discussion: “Circling the Sun”

Bestselling author Paula McLain tells the story of Beryl Markham. Set against the majestic landscape of 20th century Africa we learn about the adventurous life she led and the people she encountered.

Storytime

Toddler Tales

10:15 a.m., Mondays, March 14, 21

This interactive and active time for toddlers and their favorite caregiver is designed to advance pre-reading and social skills. They’ll experience storytelling, wordplay, felt board stories, fingerplays, puppets, singing, music-making, socializing, dancing and, of course, books.

Baby Rhyme Time

10:30 a.m., Wednesdays, March 16, 23

During this special storytime, you and your baby will learn new nursery rhymes and fingerplays, interact with puppets, sing, read books and dance.

Preschool Storytime

11 a.m., Thursdays, March 17, 24

Your preschooler will continue to build relationships with other kids, books, and the library in a storytime designed specifically for them.

Family Storytime

10 a.m., Saturday, March 26

The whole family is invited to this enjoyable, all-ages storytime that encourages the development of pre-reading skills through songs, rhymes, fingerplays and stories.

Children’s Programs

Make and Take Craft – Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Children in grades K-5 are invited to stop by the library for a make and take craft in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday. All supplies provided just bring your imagination.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday at the library. Caregivers will guide their children through age-appropriate activity stations that are designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers. Sponsored by the Friends of the Northwest Regional Library.

Kids Read Down Fines

Children and teens earn a $2 coupon or credit for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Credit may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under and applies only to overdue charges.

Music Together

10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 10

Musical exploration for young children presented by Family Music Time. For ages 0 to 5. Sponsored by the Friends of the Northwest Regional Library. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Sandi Sylver: Storyteller, Ventriloquist & Songstress

6 p.m., Tuesday, March 29

You won’t want to miss this hilarious, all-ages performance. Sandi and her family of puppets will provide more than a few belly laughs as they educate and entertain.

On the Table: Zentangle All Tied Up

Grab a circle on the Art Nook table and make awesome designs. Circles will be combined to make a really cool poster for the Teen Zone.

Between the Stacks: Literary Golfing
