Take me out to the ball game! The Kennedy Kruiser’s are ready for some spring training baseball action! Join us as we venture to the new Jet Blue stadium to see the Boston Red Sox battle the Baltimore Orioles. See your baseball stars up close during their pre-game batting practice. Enjoy a delightful pre-game BBQ buffet with family and friends. The in-field grand stand seats would make this Saint Patrick’s Day a lucky one! Sign up early. Seats will go fast! The Lake Kennedy Center and Director, Lori Turner, invites everyone to start February with a fantastic event, The Turner Talents Variety Show. Get ready to enjoy performances from across the decades including belly dance, hula, tap, and much more. Come spend the afternoon with friends and family while enjoying fantastic entertainment. The Kennedy Kruisers are going on safari! Join us in an adventure to remember as we head to Lakeland to experience Safari Wilderness Ranch! This is not a zoo or theme park. There are no crowds and no lines. Here you will enjoy a natural adventure. Experienced driver guides will tour you through large herds of exotic game over 260 acres of pristine wilderness in customized safari vehicles, fitted with shade canopies and stadium seating. A rare and unique experience, Safari Wilderness Ranch is a world away from the hustle and bustle of civilization. Here you feel the silence, enveloped by an open vista of grazing animals surrounded by cypress domes and bay trees. Last time we came up close and personal and fed water buffalo! $77 per member and $82 per non-member. Excursion includes a stop for a Dutch treat breakfast at Cracker Barrel.

* 12th Annual Senior Idol, Feb. 19, doors open at 6:30 p.m. event starts at 7 p.m.
Senior Idol returns this year better than ever with Emcee KJ Mike! Come enjoy a fabulous show or step on stage to sing your heart out and share your talent as a contestant. All contestants must register prior to Feb. 17 deadline. Applications are available at the Lake Kennedy Center. The first place winner will receive an awesome karaoke machine, and a plaque. Second, and third place winners will receive a gift basket and a plaque as well. All contestants must be 50 or over and no paid professionals can enter the competition. Entries are limited to the first 15 applicants. There is a $10 contestant entry fee. Prizes are courtesy of our community partners Right at Home, Choices in Living, and Juniper Village. Maybe you could be the next Lake Kennedy Center “Senior Idol”! Appetizers and beverages will be served. BYOB. Preregistration required.
