Free boat inspections this weekend
The Cape Coral Sail and Power Squadron wants everyone to have their boat in good working order before they hit the open water.
Free confidential vessel inspections will be provided by the Cape Coral Sail and Power Squadron Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 30 and 31, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., at Cape Harbor and Tarpon Point marinas. This free service is a way to help keep Lee County boaters safe.
No appointment is necessary. The vessel safety check verifies that each boat has the required equipment to comply with the law and that it is in working order.
The Power Squadron has been offering this free service for the past 50 years. With over 60,000 boaters in Lee county there are many boaters that we can benefit from this service.
Vessels that pass the review receive a sticker that enables the Coast Guard and any other agency to know that it has been inspected.
If the boater would prefer to have the inspection at their home dock, call the Cape Coral Sail and Power Squadron at 239-549-9754 or go on line at www.ccsaps.org and request a vessel safety check.
