Friends of the Cape Coral Library meeting set for Jan. 16
Join the Friends of the Cape Coral Library Saturday, Jan. 16, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with coffee, juice and snacks. The meeting begins at 10 a.m., followed by the topic “Volunteering in the Cape,” presented by four Cape Coral organizations.
The Cape Coral Lee County Public Library is one of six regional libraries serving Lee County. The library has an arts and humanities emphasis with an art display area. A butterfly garden with benches is located outside along with several areas for quiet reading. There is a large meeting room, small conference room, public Internet access, and wireless and wired Internet access for laptops.
The library serves a large youth population with a variety of free programming for toddlers through teens.
Friends of the Cape Coral Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the resources and services of the Cape Coral library.
The Friends of the Library raise funds to support programs and purchase materials for the library that are not covered by the Lee County budget. The group provides monthly art exhibits in the library’s gallery featuring local artists. Volunteers maintain the exhibits and assist at receptions. As library advocates, members speak out in support of local, state and national libraries.
The Cape Coral Library will display topic-related books, DVDs and audios for checkout. Meetings are held in the large meeting room at the Cape Coral Library, 921 SW 39th Terrace, Cape Coral. Friends meetings are free and open to the public.
