Come celebrate the true meaning of Christmas at the Cape Baptist Church Saturday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. Our adult and children’s choirs will be presenting the birth of Jesus in song. This is a free event for the whole family to enjoy!

GriefShare is a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. The group meets every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar and group discussion. GriefShare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Each session is “self-contained” so you do not have to attend in sequence.

DivorceCare is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. CCFUMC is offering this Biblically based 13-week support group on Tuesday nights from 6-8 in room 152. Child care is available upon advanced request. Christ Lutheran
This weekend is the second Sunday of Advent. During Advent we remember and celebrate the ways God comes to us: in the past in the life of Jesus; in the present in word and sacrament; and in the future, even if there is disaster, in everlasting life. As we light the first Advent candle we begin a year-long reading from the gospel of Luke.
A casual Advent Eucharist is celebrated Saturday evening at 5:30. The Sunday morning Eucharist is at 9. Following the Eucharist the youth will sponsor a pancake breakfast.
On Wednesdays, the Parish Prayer Team meets at 10 a.m. Brown Bag and a Bible, a lunchtime Bible Study, meets Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. Thursday evenings at 7, a Bible Study is held on the book of Acts. Both Bible studies are led by the Pastor Bogholtz.

Evangelical Presbyterian Church
Evangelical Presbyterian Church is offering a Women of the Word study on Tuesdays from 9-11 a.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. Women of the Word is a unique program that brings women in the Lee County area together to support one another in their faith. The study involves women from a variety of faith backgrounds who meet.
While women who are mothers are involved in the study, a program will be provided for their children during the morning session only. The study is done in small groups as relationships are developed. The next study will begin Jan. 12. And we will continue in the book of Genesis.

Faith Bible Fellowship
Faith Bible Fellowship is a family-oriented, non-denominational church that focuses on preaching truth from the word of God. – Cape Coral Caring Center Sunday: The church collects food donations on the first Sunday of each month. The donations are taken to the Caring Center by church volunteers for distribution.
Some items needed (Christmas dinner): canned sweet potatoes, canned vegetables, fruit, boxed dressing, mac & cheese, instant mashed potatoes, etc.
– Christmas for Our Troops: Donations are collected all year and mailed over to our troops monthly. Items needed: dried fruit, cookies (fresh baked or bought), salty snacks, candy (no chocolate), jerky, etc. Also, lip balm, eye drops, hand sanitizer, combs, brushes, etc.; travel board games, decks of cards, puzzle books, CDs, DVDs, pens and stationary.

The church’s Missionary of the Month is Dr. Cornelius Hegeman, an academic dean of Miami International Seminary (MINTS). He supervised distance education for pastors around the world. He travels extensively throughout Latin America, teaching classes to pastors of churches who lack a desirable level of education. Regular seminary-level courses are offered in all areas, and degrees are awarded as the students advance to higher levels of learning. The pastors then teach others courses so that the program is growing exponentially.
