GriefShare is a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. The group meets every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar and group discussion. GriefShare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Each session is “self-contained” so you do not have to attend in sequence.

DivorceCare is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. Christ Lutheran
This weekend is the first Sunday of Advent. During Advent we remember and celebrate the ways God comes to us: in the past in the life of Jesus; in the present in word and sacrament; and in the future, even if there is disaster, in everlasting life. As we light the first Advent candle we begin a year-long reading from the gospel of Luke.
The first service of Advent is the Saturday evening Eucharist at 5:30. At the Sunday Eucharist, at 9 a.m., the congregation will welcome the Rev. Robert G. Schaefer, Bishop of the Florida-Bahamas Synod of the ELCA. Bishop Schaefer will preach and preside; a reception will follow the 9 a.m. Eucharist.
Bishop Schaefer serves as the pastor to the Florida-Bahamas Synod, representing Lutheran congregations throughout the state of Florida and one in Freeport, Bahamas. As bishop, he exercises the church’s power to ordain, commission and consecrate the Rostered leaders of this church. The bishop is also responsible for strengthening the unity of the Church, exercising leadership in the mission of the church, and oversee and administer the general work of the synod and staff. The mission of the office of the bishop is to shepherd and resource rostered leaders and congregations as they proclaim Christ to the world.
When elected in May 2013, Bishop Schaefer was serving as co-pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran in Venice. He was an executive for worship with the ELCA church-wide organization from 2009 to 2011. He served as assistant to the bishop of the ELCA Florida-Bahamas Synod from 2004 to 2009 and co-pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran in Tampa, from 1998 to 2004. Before coming to Florida, he served congregations in the Metropolitan New York Synod.
One Wednesdays, the Parish Prayer Team meets at 10 a.m. Brown Bag and a Bible, a lunchtime Bible Study, meets Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, evenings at 7, a Bible Study is held on the book of Acts. Both Bible studies are led by the Pastor Bogholtz.

Evangelical Presbyterian Church
Evangelical Presbyterian Church is offering a Women of the Word study on Tuesdays from 9-11 a.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. Women of the Word is a unique program that brings women in the Lee County area together to support one another in their faith. The study involves women from a variety of faith backgrounds who meet.
While women who are mothers are involved in the study, a program will be provided for their children during the morning session only. The study is done in small groups as relationships are developed. The next study will begin Jan. 12th. And we will continue in the book of Genesis.

Faith Bible Fellowship
Faith Bible Fellowship is a family-oriented, non-denominational church that focuses on preaching truth from the word of God. Methodist Church
Hope United Methodist Church’s mission statement is “Growing with others in Christ, serving others for Christ and introducing others to Christ.”

This Sunday, Nov. 29, the church would like to invite everyone to join the congregation on the first Sunday of Advent as it embarks on a journey to Bethlehem to look for a child lying in a manger.
Pastor Paul Kisner will begin the Advent series called “The Journey.” The series is based on the book “The Journey,” by Pastor Adam Hamilton. “The Journey” will begin with “Mary of Nazareth.”
This Sunday is the church’s fifth Sunday offering. This special offering is dedicated to the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home in Enterprise, Fla. This ministry offers many different parts, all working together to help children, youth and families find a place of healing. Starting with two small children in 1908, the U.M. Children’s Home has grown into a diverse and complex ministry serving approximately 400 children and youth each and every day.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, the church will be participating in the Lifeline Walk at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral to raise money for Lifeline. This is a wonderful ministry that helps young girls with unexpected pregnancies. Hope is a yearly supporter of Lifeline.
