Hatha Yoga

The Soul of a Soldier: Songs & Stories

With his gentle performance of songs and powerful storytelling, Mike Cheesman gives us a glimpse of the patriotism, sacrifice and heroism of soldiers on both sides of the Great War. Registration is required.
Craft Corner: Knitting and Crocheting

The Value of Searching Public Records
and Online Services

Clerk of Court Linda Doggett will present information available on the Lee County Clerk of Court website, such as how to report guardianship fraud, review civil and criminal public records, obtain copies of deeds and mortgages, pay traffic tickets, request postponement or excusal of jury duty, obtain passport or marriage license information and locate links to other local agencies. Registration is required.

Tai Chi/Qi Gong

Prevention Health and Wellness Series:
Stress Management

Combat stress by learning ways to relax and decompress. Also learn about the importance of managing stress and how stress can affect the body. Presented by SalusCare Adult Community Prevention Services. Registration is required.
Wants, Needs and More
1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 18
Author Lola Sinelli will discuss her book “Wants, Needs and More…” which includes how to lose weight and keep it off, tricks to reduce sugar dependency, how to quit smoking and never start again, how to go into old age with less pain and more flexibility, the best-kept secrets to true fitness and so much more. Sponsored by Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library. Registration is required.
Storytime
Family Storytime

The whole family is invited to this enjoyable, all-ages storytime that encourages the development of pre-reading skills through songs, rhymes, fingerplays and stories. First come, first served.
Preschool Storytime
11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1
Children who start kindergarten with pre-reading skills have an advantage. They are ready to learn to read. Preschoolers continue to build relationships with other kids, books and the library in a storytime designed specifically for them. The stories and activities are more complex, but just as fun. Parents and caregivers encourage independence in their kids by waiting nearby in the library. First come, first served.
Toddler Tales
11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, and Thursday, Dec. 3
This interactive and active time for toddlers and their favorite caregiver is designed to advance pre-reading and social skills. They’ll experience storytelling, wordplay, felt board stories, fingerplays, puppets, singing, music-making, socializing, dancing and, of course, books. First come, first served.
Baby Rhyme Time
10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 3
During this special storytime, babies learn new nursery rhymes and fingerplays, interact with puppets, sing, read books and dance. First come, first served.

Children and teens earn a $2 coupon or credit for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Credit may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only and applies only to charges on overdue materials.
Holiday Craft
4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17
Come make a craft for the holiday. All supplies provided. For students of all ages. Parents welcome. Please register online or pick up a ticket at the Youth Services desk in the library.
“The Velveteen Rabbit,”

3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29
Using puppets, storytelling and colorful scenery, Katie Adams presents the timeless, heart-warming story of a boy and his plush toy rabbit. Please register online, or pick up tickets in the Youth Services area of the library.
An Afternoon at the Movies
1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30
After the kingdom is cast into eternal winter by the powerful Snow Queen, her sister tries break the icy spell. Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale The Snow Queen. First come, first served.
