GriefShare is a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. The group meets every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar and group discussion. GriefShare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Each session is “self-contained” so you do not have to attend in sequence.

DivorceCare is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. Christ Lutheran

This coming weekend, we hear about two widows, both of whom in their time and place exemplified the poor and helpless in society. Come to worship to identify with them and to share in God’s meal of mercy.

This weekend a Baptismal Eucharist is celebrated Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. A reception in honor of the newly baptized will follow the liturgy. The regular Sunday Eucharist is at 9 a.m. A Coffee Hour follows the Sunday liturgy.

Sunday School for children age 3 through 5th grade is also at 9 a.m. The children begin with their parents in church and move to class after a children’s message. Coffee hour follows the morning liturgy.

The Wednesday meeting of the Parish Prayer Team and the Brown Bag and a Bible lunchtime Bible Study will not be held this coming week. Thursday evening at 7 p.m., Pastor Bogholtz leads a study of the Book of Acts.

Evangelical Presbyterian Church

Evangelical Presbyterian Church is offering a Women of the World 2015 study Tuesdays from 9-11 a.m. or 6:30-8 p.m.

Women of the World is a unique program that brings women in the Lee County area together to support one another in their faith. The study involves women from a variety of faith backgrounds who meet weekly and are currently studying the book of Genesis. While women who are mothers are involved in the study, a program will be provided for their children. The study is done in small groups that often become support groups as relationships are developed.

The fall session has become and will resume through Nov. 17. The next study will start in January.

Faith Bible Fellowship

Faith Bible Fellowship is a family-oriented, non-denominational church that focuses on preaching truth from the word of God. Hope United Methodist Church

Hope United Methodist Church’s mission statement is “Growing with others in Christ, serving others for Christ and introducing others to Christ.”

The church’s “Missionary of the Month” is the Rev. Vander Pol, a missionary and professor for Miami International Seminary. He writes theology courses in English for students around the world who study with MINTS. He supervises students and study centers in Southeast Asia. He travels to India, Myanmar and the Philippines to teach and supervise the work of study centers there.

The Rev. Vander Pol was pastor of Trinity Reformed for 13 years before he went into full-time missions. Prior to that he pastored churches in Minnesota and New Zealand; he pastored churches for 30 years. He attended Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia and Calvin Theological Seminary. He holds a D.Min. from MINTS International Seminary. He has written three courses and articles as well as a very important book on the Trinity:?”God in Three Perons:?Biblical Testimony to the Trinity.”
