Seven Cape Coral students were recognized.

This month’s guest speaker was Erich Boerner, Dean of Students at Oasis High School.

Overall winner

* Bradley Claus

9th Grade

North Fort Myers High School

Nichole, Bradley’s mom, was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. Nichole told Bradley that she was not feeling well and was going to lie down. When Bradley saw his mom on the couch she had blacked out. Upon seeing this, Bradley called 9-1-1 and informed the operator that his mom was unconscious. Bradley was able to perform all of the pre-arrival steps EMS was giving him up to performing CPR. Bradley maintained his composure throughout this difficult time. The 9-1-1 Operator stated that she was impressed by how mature and calm Bradley handled himself given the circumstances.

* Dustin Alyn Kendall

7th Grade

Diplomat Middle School

Dustin is a caring and helpful student who exemplifies the “Wildcat Way.” At lunch, a student was horse playing with another student, when his cell phone was knocked to the floor. At this time, a blade slipped from the phone case and was quickly retrieved by the student and put back in the case. Dustin knew this was against the Lee Country Schools Code of Conduct and immediately reported it to a school official. If it was not for Dustin’s willingness to speak up, the blade might have been used to hurt someone.

* Isabella Kleinow

4th Grade

Tropic Isles Elementary

Isabella helps her mom out when setting up tables around Lee County for Stop Illegal Dog Fighting Events. She loves animals so much that she volunteers at Pitbull Crew and at Gulf Coast Humane Society. Isabella hates that animals are being abused and wants to put an end to it. At her table at these events Isabella hands out cards for 1-800-TIPS and tells people to call. It’s admirable that at such a young age this little girl is choosing to make a difference.
